India won't sit inertly if its warriors are assaulted: US official

WASHINGTON: Asking Pakistan to clip down on fanatic gatherings inside its region, a top US administrator has advised Islamabad that India would not sit inertly if its warriors or nationals were being assaulted.

"(They) are supported by Pakistan. They (Trump organization) should be more towards putting the weight on Pakistan to follow LeT and other activist gatherings inside Pakistan that are creating pressures on the India-Pakistan fringe," he said because of a question.

"I think the accentuation here is that they (Pakistan) need to accomplish more to clasp down on those vicious and fanatic gatherings inside Pakistan themselves, since India won't sit by inactively while it's officers or it's natives are being assaulted," said Crowley, a previous co-Chair of the House India Caucus.

The Congressman said these issues ought to be dealt with in a two-sided way by the two nations.

"Yet, I do believe there's a part that the United States can play as both a companion to India and Pakistan to put the weight on our companions to discover a path forward to help keep peace in the area and to realize compromise," the Democratic official from New York said.
