UK PM Theresa May says speculation not helpful after Trump tweets on attack

London: British Prime Minister Theresa May said on Friday it was not helpful for people to speculate on any investigation after US President Donald Trump tweeted that the culprits behind a bombing on a train were in the sights of the police.

Asked about Trumps` tweet saying that those responsible for the bomb in west London which injured 22 people were "in the sights of Scotland Yard, May said: "I never think it`s helpful for anybody to speculate on what is an ongoing investigation."

She also said that the police and security services were doing all they could to identify those responsible for the "cowardly attack".

Rare species of endangered white-letter hairstreak butterfly spotted in Scotland after 133 years

Edinburg: A rare species of butterfly, which has suffered a dramatic decline in numbers, was spotted in Scotland after 133 years.

The rare species of the endangered white-letter hairstreak butterfly was last recorded sighting in 1884, as per media reports.

Paul Kirkland of the Butterfly Conservation Scotland said,"Climate change is a double-edged sword but it's an exciting time to be in the Scottish borders."

More than a quarter of Britain's 59 butterfly species have crossed the border to Scotland.

The white-letter hairstreak normally lives out of sight at the tops of elm trees but was earlier this month spotted in the field.

It suffered its worst year on record in 2016, according to the UK butterfly monitoring survey. Although widespread across England and Wales, it has suffered a 72 per cent decline over the last decade.

Its numbers were down by 96 per cent over the last 40 years.

Army asks defence minister to fix responsibility for Pulgaon ammo depot explosion

The Army has conveyed its serious concerns to the defence ministry over the Ordnance Factory Board’s “failure” to punish officials responsible for last year’s massive blast at an ammunition depot in Maharashtra in which 19 army personnel perished, an official document says.

Over 19,325 defective anti-tank mines had exploded primarily due to leakage of explosives from some of the mines stored at the Central Ammunition Depot in Pulgaon.

“These agencies are under the control of department of defence production under the defence ministry and suitable action needs to be taken by them,” the Army said in the letter.

It further said, “Fixing of accountability and traceability for the said accident is yet to be established by the OFB and the director general of quality assurance (DGQA) even one year after the accident.”

Official sources said there was criminal negligence on the part of certain officials as cited by the probe and sought immediate action against them.

The sources said the High Energy Materials Research Laboratory (HEMRL) in Pune in 2012 had clearly called the quality of TNT in the anti-tank mines as safety hazard but the OFB stated it to be a world-wide phenomenon.

The CoI had recommended disposal of defective ammunition in a time-bound manner to prevent recurrence of fire at the depot, the sources said.

इससे पहले यमन के स्वास्थ मंत्रालय ने भी जानकारी देते हुए बताया था कि राजधानी साना में इस बीमारी की चपेट में आकर 115 लोग मारे जा चुके हैं। रेड क्रास के डोमिनिक थिलहार्ट ने यहां संवाददाताओं से कहा कि युद्धग्रस्त देश यमन में अभी भी 11 हजार से अधिक हैजा के संदिग्ध मरीज हैं। अधिकारियों ने एक दिन पहले सुबह साना में आपातकाल की घोषणा की थी और इस भीषण होती जा रही आपदा को रोकने के लिए अंतरराष्ट्रीय समुदाय मदद की गुहार की।

NASA's Cassini spacecraft reveals Saturn's magnetic field has no tilt and many more

New Delhi: NASA's Cassini mission has unraveled some stunning facts about Saturn and its famous rings during its journey to the ringed planet.

The space probe, currently undergoing the final phase of its mission, known as the Grand Finale, has made some startling observations of the planet as it makes its unprecedented series of weekly dives between Saturn and its rings.

They say this observation is at odds with scientists' theoretical understanding of how magnetic fields are generated.

The magnetometer data will also be evaluated in concert with Cassini's measurements of Saturn's gravity field collected during the Grand Finale.

Other recent science highlights include promising hints about the structure and composition of the icy rings, along with high-resolution images of the rings and Saturn's atmosphere.

The sophisticated robotic spacecraft is now in the 15th of 22 weekly orbits that pass through the narrow gap between Saturn and its rings.

Cassini, which began its finale on April 26, will continue its dives until September 15, 2017, when it will make a fateful plunge into Saturn's atmosphere, ending its long of unprecedented scientific discoveries.

लालू-राबड़ी को नहीं मिलेगी VVIP सुविधा, राजद ने लगाया आरोप, BJP ने दिया जवाब

 पटना [जेएनएन]। राजद सुप्रीमो लालू यादव और राबड़ी देवी को पटना एयरपोर्ट पर दी जाने वाली विशेष सुविधा समाप्त किए जाने का एक ओर जहां राजद गलत करार देते हुए केंद्र सरकार पर राजनीतिक विद्वेष का आरोप लगाया है, वहीं बीजेपी ने इसका जवाब देते हुए कहा है कि उन्हें क्यों वीवीआइपी की सुविधा मिलनी चाहिए?

राजद के मनेर विधायक भाई विरेन्द्र ने इसकी निंदा करते हुए कहा कि बीजेपी जान बूझकर लालू यादव और उनके परिवार से व्यक्तिगत दुश्मनी निकाल रही है। बीजेपी की इन हरकतों से ना सिर्फ आरजेडी नेता और कार्यकर्ता बल्कि बिहार की पूरी जनता आक्रोशित है।

इसका जवाब देते हुए बीजेपी के नेता नंदकिशोर यादव ने कहा कि लालू और राबड़ी को वीवीआइपी की सुविधा क्यों मिलनी चाहिए? वे तो किसी पद पर भी नहीं हैं और ना ही कोई एेसे वीवीआइपी ही हैं। एेसे में उन्हें यह सुविधा किस आधार पर मिलनी चाहिए और इसके लिए केंद्र सरकार पर राजनीतिक विद्वेष लगाना कहां तक उचित है।

वहीं राजद नेता जयप्रकाश यादव ने भी केंद्र सरकार पर लालू और राबड़ी को परेशान करने का आरोप लगाते हुए कहा है कि ये गलत है और इसके लिए लोकसभा में कार्यस्थगन प्रस्ताव का नोटिस देंगे। इस तरह किसी को इतना परेशान करना सही नहीं है। लालू यादव और उनके परिवार पर राजनीतिक विद्वेष की कार्रवाई करना कहीं से उचित नहीं है।

गौरतलब है कि लालू यादव और उनकी पत्नी राबड़ी देवी को एक अगस्त 2009 को पटना एयरपोर्ट के लिए दी गयी विशेष सुविधा को केंद्रीय नागरिक उड्डयन मंत्रालय ने समाप्त कर दिया है।

'210 govt sites found displaying Aadhaar details'

New Delhi: About 210 websites of the central and state government departments were found to be displaying personal details and Aadhaar numbers of beneficiaries, Parliament was informed on Wednesday.

"UIDAI (The Unique Identification Authority of India) has taken note of the same and is regularly monitoring the status to get the Aadhaar data removed from the said websites," Minister of State for Electronics and IT, PP Chaudhary said in a written reply in Lok Sabha.

"As on July 13, 2017, 123 schemes of various Central Ministries/Departments have been notified under Section 7 or 57 of Aadhaar Act, 2016. In respect of these schemes, Aadhaar number is necessary for the purpose of establishing identity of an individual to enable receipt of subsidies, benefits and services etc," he added.

To another query, he said that the linkage of Aadhaar number with PAN (Permanent Account Number) database will allow a "robust way" of de-duplication as the former is based on biometric attributes of finger prints and iris images.

"Some instances were found where multiple PANs have been allotted to one person or one PAN has been alloted to multiple persons despite the application of de-duplication process based on demographic data," he said.

Seeding of Aadhaar will allow weeding out any undetected duplicate PANs, he added.

PAN is the key identifier of taxable entity and aggregator of all financial transactions undertaken by the entity.
